The last bit of daylight reaches a tree near Yosemite Falls. I was with a couple of photographer friends on the valley floor early in 2016. We all had our longest lenses out photographing the full waterfall. I shifted angle to capture this special light. Yes the title is awful. I'll try to improve that.
One of the real gems of the Santa Cruz Mountains; Sempervirons Falls in Big Basin Redwoods State Park. I shot this shortly after a big rain storm soaked us in January 2016. I haven't seen this little waterfall look so good in a long time. Hooray for some rain!
Another view from the same 2014 winter solstice scene (and indeed another version of an earlier photo) in Capitola. A long boarder stood patiently (and remarkably still) and waited for her friends to finish their sunset surf session. She was still enough for a long exposure (several seconds) while the sky erupted with color and the reflections helped tell the story.
This was a photo of mine that went viral on social media in December, 2017. Some friends met with me along West Cliff Drive and we waited for the "super moon" to rise over the harbor. It came up a little more to the left than I expected and I had to think fast to recompose the shot.
